Mark Rehn Business Excellence Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”), as developer and operator of the My Business Excellence (“MBE”) Website and MBE Portal: (collectively, “the MBE Site”), are committed to protecting and respecting your personal privacy and the privacy of your organisational information generated as a direct result of using the MBE Site.

This policy (together with our Terms and Conditions and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which any personal or organisational data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your data and how we will treat it.

Information we may collect from you

We may collect and process the following data about you:

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms or templates on our MBE Site. We may also ask you for information, and obtain information when you report a problem with our MBE Site or request assistance in applying the self help methodology for business excellence embodied in the MBE Site.
  • If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
  • We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.
  • Details of transactions you carry out through our MBE Site and of the fulfilment of your orders.
  • Details of your visits to our MBE Site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access.
  • Information collected by our “Email a Contact” Service. Our users can choose to forward a link to the MBE Site to someone else by clicking “Email Link to a Contact”. The user must provide their email address, as well as that of the recipient. This information is used only in the case of transmission errors and to let the recipient know who sent the email. To express our appreciation a thank you email may be sent to the person who forwarded the link. The information is not used for any other purpose.

IP addresses and cookies

We may collect information about your computers, including where available your IP addresses, operating systems and browser types, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advisers or advertisers. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalised service. They enable us:

  • To estimate our audience size and usage pattern.
  • To store information about your preferences, and so allow us to customise the MBE Site according to your individual and organisational interests.
  • To speed up your searches.
  • To recognise you when you return to our MBE Site.

However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of the MBE Site. Where we store your personal and organisational data

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside Australia. It may also be processed by staff operating outside Australia who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, the fulfilment of your order, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services. By submitting your personal or organisational data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. Similarly, when you subsequently generate organisational data as a result of using the MBE Site, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of the MBE Site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. Do not share a password with anyone. Any on-line payments made for Subscription services on our site are made via PayPal or other similar payment gateways. We do not have access to or store any such payment details.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal and organisational data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the MBE Site; any transmission is at your own risk. However, once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

Uses made of the information

We use information held about you or your organisation in the following ways:

  • To ensure that content from the MBE Site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your organisation’s computers and hand-held electronic devices.
  • To provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes.
  • To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us.
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Portal Subscription service, when you choose to do so.
  • To notify you about changes to our MBE Services.

If you are an existing customer, we will only contact you by electronic means (e-mail or SMS) with information about services broadly compatible with those which were the subject of a previous sale to you.

If you are a new customer, and where we permit selected third parties to use your data, we (or they) will contact you by electronic means only if you have consented to this.
